Cakon - The Fat Man's Dream Cake

This is the recipe for Cakon - the cake made with bacon!

I cheated and used a store bought cake mix to save time.

1 Betty Crocker Spice Cake Mix - Here
1lb of Applewood Smoked Bacon
1 cup real bacon bits
1 cup pure honey
3 cups confectioners sugar
5 tablespoons of milk
3 teaspoons of maple extract
1 cup of pure maple syrup

Bacon - before you start, soak your bacon on a flat baking sheet with the honey. Cook your honey coated bacon in the oven at 400 degrees until the bacon is slightly crispy.

Mix cake batter as directed on the package. Mix in bacon bits. Bake as directed.

Icing - Mix confectioners sugar, milk, and maple extract. Whip and add milk until it reaches desired consistency.

After icing the cake with the maple icing, Add slices of honey bacon on top. Drizzle the maple syrup over the entire cake.

Best results - Make the cake double layer and put bacon in between the layers as well as on top.

Decoration - I curled a couple slices of bacon into bacon roses.
